There was no fanfare. No hesitation. Just a single drop: vertical, unforgiving, and committed to without question. For many, it was a reminder of what surfing is at its purest — full trust, no fear, and going when others won’t.
Held off the rugged coast of Eforie Nord, Romania from October 31st through November 28th, 1992, that year’s invitational delivered swells well over 30 feet. Few dared to paddle out. Those who did became legends.
